I read the comments on the blog, and I know that a lot of people are waiting for the A5 jailbreak.
Also, I know there are tons of people out there with A4 or even earlier devices who wants the untether now and don’t care about it could be interesting to wait A5 is finished to release or even 5.1, so that we don’t waste an exploit that took me months to find and develop.
I need to focus on A5 and hope I can find a path quick, and I have the feeling that chronic-dev could help me.
So, here is what I did:
- I gave all the details to the chronic dev team so that they can finish, test, integrate and release the A4 jb ASAP.
- I’ll put all my energy from now on on the A5

Ho to fix iPhone 3GS 5.0.1 Untethered Jailbreak
Few days ago, the iPhone Dev-Team has released Redsn0w 0.9.9b9 and Ultrasn0w 1.2.5, both comes with major upgrades with full support to the latest iOS 5.0.1 firmware. However, there was a bug in the Redsn0w 0.9.9b9 version reported to the Dev-Team by number of iPhone 3GS owners with old bootrom.
Fortunately, the issue related with the iPhone 3GS untethered jailbreak on 5.0.1 firmware has been noticed, the iPhone Dev-Team has just pushed out the fix in an update with Redsn0w 0.9.9b9d for Windows and Mac both. Notably, only iPhone 3GS users with old bootrom can perform untethered jailbreak on iOS 5.0.1 firmware using Redsn0w jailbreak tool.

@Pod2G – famous iPhone hacker and member of Chronic Dev-Team has today uploaded a video showing iOS 5.0 Untethered Jailbreak. The new jailbreak exploit has been discovered by @Pod2G and he has performed an untethered jailbreak showed running on his iPod Touch.
However, no finer details has been made available by him but from now tons of questions has being asked that if there also will be a iOS 5 untethered jailbreak for iPhone 4S and iPad 2 too or only for non-A5 iOS devices like iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4G?
