OSX Lion: Airdrop enable Ethernet and Macs not supported

Airdrop is one of the most interesting and useful innovations introducedwith Mac OS X 10.7 Lion. It allows you to transfer files between two or more Macs are just a short distance from each other, does not require aUSB flash memory at hand, nor is it necessary that Macs are connectedto the internet with the same network since Airdrop directly connecting the two Macs via Wi-Fi (and without the user having to put his hand to the network settings). It ’a system designed to be easy to use for quickfile transfer, and it works. It ’a small but clever features that will save timewhen you need to exchange files quickly.

Unfortunately, Airdrop not work on all Macs Lion is installed, you must have a MacBook Pro (Late 2008 or newer), a MacBook Air (end of 2010 or newer), unl MacBook (late 2008 or newer), iMac (2009 or newer), Mac mini (mid 2010 or later) or Mac Pro (Early 2009 with the AirPort Extreme card or mid 2010).

And ’Just run the Terminal (Applications / Utilities) and type the following command followed by Enter:

defaults write com.apple.NetworkBrowser BrowseAllInterfaces 1

click “enter”

killall Finder

click “enter”

From this moment on, Airdrop runs on both a Wi-Fi, and Ethernet.

If for some reason you wish to disable Airdrop, rewrite the previous command in Terminal, taking care to replace the number with 0 and 1then Enter, then restart the Finder by typing killall Finderand click enter.
