Enable Tethering
Unlocking the Tethering your iPhone 3G and 3GS:
Step 1: Once you are done with the jailbreak and unlock, start Safari web browser on your iPhone and navigate to:
http://tetheringiphone.blackra1n.org/help
Step 2: Scroll down to where it says “Mobileconfigs – download >”
Choose your country, and then your service provider.
Step 3: Safari will now prompt you to install an unsigned Tethering .IPCC file on your iPhone. Allow the file to install by touching on install button.
Step 4: Now reboot your iPhone by first holding down the “Home” button, followed by “Power” button simultaneously until you see Apple logo on the screen.
Step 5: Once your phone has been restarted, simply navigate to
Settings->General->Network->Internet Tethering
on your iPhone and turn on the toggle for Internet Tethering.
Do not work for me… Orange France, iPhone 3GS 3.1.3 Pwnage’d.
The tethering button Is no more available in the Network preferences after installing the .IPCC file.
Any solution?
I updated my iphone lost the tethering have tried everything to get it back also tried downloading blackrain again but lost the icon on my phone and it doesn’t work any more help help help

tried on my 3Gs 3.1.2 no luck was able to install but i do not get the tether option in the network setting menu

If you install Blackra1n (succesfully) download packages Cydia and Snow. Snow will enable tethering as long as the tethering mobile configuration profile is installed.

So why after installing the tethering hack, I plug in my iphone and the “tethering’ section in my Settings dissapears??

I’m using an iPhone 3G (8Gb) w/ 3.1.2 and blackra1n RC3. I did a fresh 3.1.2 restore on my phone. Then I installed blackra1n. The tethering option would come up but when I would plug my phone to the computer, it would disappear. So I installed sn0w and then a profile configuration. Rebooted my phone and boom! I have tethering. I’m surfing the web on my computer via the phone. Everything is happy until now.
I’m surfing the web, watching Youtube videos, etc. On the bottom of my screen I get a message saying that the cable has been disconnected. I look at my phone and in the top left corner it says No Service. I wait for a few seconds and I get connection again and I continue surfing. At a random point, my phone does the No Service crap again. It seems to do it randomly and it even does it when I’m not tethering. Any ideas?
Will this not have the same problem as MyWi or what ever? Where if AT&T sees that you are tethering they will start charging you for tethering and before you know it you have close to a 1000 dollar bill?
my service provider is vodafone and it is not an option. Is there a way round this?

with out rebooting it. Is there a way to do this with Blackra1n
or do i have to get a different jail break?
Help!!!!! plz. I have an iPhone 3G with os3.0 software, For a long time I have been using the link to add tethering for my phone too my computer. and seeing I don’t have access to the Internet otherwise, it was great. but I had to do a full system wipe and replaced the sim card, I tried to upload the link now and it doesn’t show up. And I can’t tether Plz Help my Internet access has been reduced to the screen of my phone. I have tried, I think everything. Right now my phone is using os 3.1.3 plz help me
