iPhone OS 4.0 Beta 3 Available for Developers
Apple released iPhone OS 4 beta 3 along with iPhone SDK4 beta 3, registered developers can download via their developer account developer.apple.com. If you are upgrading from beta 2 to beta 3 you must turn off the passcode before upgrading. If you back up your device on a computer running Mac OS X, you must install the Beta 3 SDK on that computer before you attempt to backup and restore the device, otherwise the device will refuse to proceed with the backup. If you also reinstall iTunes, you must install the Beta 3 SDK after installing iTunes.

Yes you are right, however this beta (4.0 beta 3) has caused iPhones of 500 people that have tested it to over heat and melt. They have had to get them replaced so Apple have called back beta 3. Sorry everyone
I’m not one of those 500 people. I ran the beta 3 with nearly any problems. It was put directly on the iphone and the only thing that didn’t work was the cellular network but things like safari worked over wifi (not useful if you want to read the news away from home). However I’m going to downgrade back to 3.1.3 because of an odd error. I wanted to restore beta 3 as network didn’t work and NOW it said that beta 3 could not be installed on my phone…
Are beta OS able to be jailbroken? I hate my iPhone ever since I had to replace it with the stock 3.1.3. It’s just not fun anymore without being jailbroken.
I hope George has a jailbreak up his sleave pretty soon…..
can be used on itouch ?
