How to Jailbreak Your iPod Touch Using Spirit (Windows) [3.1.2, 3.1.3]
These are instructions on how to perform an untethered jailbreak on your iPod touch using the Spirit Jailbreak and Windows.
To follow these instructions you must be using an activated device not stuck on the Connect to iTunes or Emergency Call screen.
Any version of iTunes 9 til 9.1.1 will work.
Step One
Download the Spirit Jailbreak from here and save it to your desktop.
Step Two
Double click the Spirit application on your desktop to launch it
*Important: If you have Windows 7 you may need to run Spirit in compatibility mode for Windows 98. Before launching right click Spirit.exe and select Properties from the contextual menu. Then from the Compatibility tab select Windows 98 from the Compatibility Mode dropdown. Click Apply then Ok
Step Three
Connect your iPod and press the Jailbreak button.
Step Five
The Spirit app will then let you know the jailbreak is complete.
Your iPhone will reboot and show you progress indicator. Once this finishes your iPod will be jailbroken with Cydia installed!

Won’t seem to work, it connects to iTunes, but it isn’t connecting to Spirit. I’m using Vista 32-bit and iTunes 9.

Ok, I have one MAJOR question! I’m on a non-mc model 16gb iPhone 3gs, running firmware 3.1.2 with a Blackra1n jailbreak. My question is, with the new release of Spirit and the ability to unlock firmware 3.1.3, how do I upgrade to 3.1.3 without losing all of my app data (game saves, progress, etc…)? I want to do the Spirit Jailbreak because, I’m tired of having to re-jailbreak my phone everytime it dies or reboots! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It tells me to install itunes 9 and i had it already then tried it with itunes 9.1.1 and it still said to install itunes 9 what do i do?

It will work on any gen all you need is 3.1.2 or 3.1.3 version and any version of iTunes 9 til 9.1.1 will work

but in cydia i cant download/install any packages or add most sources. I never had this problem with blackra1n and im thinking about changing back to the tethered blackra1n.

After I jailbroke my Ipod touch 3.1.2 the screen went to the purple cloud loading screen, then it froze. I did a hard restart and it is stuck on the apple home screen currently. Any help please? Thank you.
How do I uninstall the Spirit+Blackra1n jailbreak. I tried to restore using iTunes alone and now I’m stuck at the loading screen on the iPod touch 2g.
I did this, then I opened the cydia app and it said reorganizing. Then it restarted my ipod and deleted 4 of the default apps, so now I cant get them back

It worked for my 3g iPod touch. However, it was my understanding that this would allow me to add 3rd party apps onto my ipod, however when I attempt to sync them, it says there is an error and it won’t do it. Any suggestions?
everytime i shut my ipod off, i have to reboot it by plugging it in to the computer and using blackra1n again. i tried to use spirit to untether it and its still wanting me to reboot with blackra1n. any help?
