There is a story that could break the eggs in the basket for those who have
planning to buy an iPhone last generation. It seems that the
new version of bootrom installed on the latest iPhone 3GS
product is no longer vulnerable to the flaw that allowed
run the jailbreak. At least for now.
The Dev Team confirms that the new bootrom exists, code
iBoot-359.3.2, which at present can not be used
the old procedures (the “24kpwn exploit”) to force
the installation of unauthorized software. Even the recent
application issued by Geohot, that Blackra1n able
run the jailbreak on all Apple devices, ceases to
work in his presence.
The hopes of forcing the locks of Cupertino, however, are still
alive and well, and the next move is in the hands of hackers. One
to zero for Apple, and ball in the center.
